We want to let you know that our email policy will change on May 13, 2016.  

An Optimum Online email account will not be affected by the change unless an email account goes inactive for more than 90 days. Any email accounts that have been inactive for more than 90 days will be deleted and the contents cannot be recovered. This change will not impact your ability to access other Optimum Online services and features using your Optimum ID, such as Bill Pay, Optimum WiFi, TV to GO, etc..

To keep your Optimum Online email account(s) from becoming inactive, simply log in to each Optimum Online email account or the email client you use to check Optimum Online email once every 90 days. Additionally, opening or sending an email message at least once every 90 days will keep your account active. Setting up auto-forward for your Optimum Online email will also keep an email account active. Any Optimum Online email account that has not been accessed once every 90 days will be permanently deleted.

Q: Why is the policy changing?
A: We are in the process of moving our customers to a new, upgraded email platform later this year. In order to best serve our Optimum Online subscribers, we feel that implementing this change will optimize performance. It's important to note that an Optimum Online subscriber will always have the ability to create a new mailbox at any time.

Q: When does this email policy change take effect?
A: The policy change regarding Optimum Online email accounts goes into effect on May 13, 2016, but only applies to Optimum Online email accounts that have been inactive for over 90 days.

Q: What deems an email account active?
A: An email account is deemed active so long as:

  • You log in to your Optimum Online email inbox within 90 days of your last login
  • You open or send an email message within 90 days of your last email activity
  • Auto-forwarding of your Optimum Online email has been active within the prior 90 days
  • You log in to your Optimum Online email account through an email client within 90 days of your last login


Q: Can an email account be added back to an Optimum ID?
A: An email account can be added back to an Optimum ID, but any email already deleted will not be recoverable.

Q: Will I still have access to all the features associated with my Optimum services, such as Optimum WiFi, TV to Go, Bill Pay, Optimum Voice Portal, SMB portal, etc.?
A: Yes. You will continue to have access to all other features associated with your Optimum service.
