How to Make Calls Remotely (While Away From Home)

Optimum Phone International customers in NY, NJ, and CT, can use Remote Dialing to make international calls from any phone away from home, including your mobile or work phone. You will need to set up an International Calling PIN and register your numbers for Remote Dialing.

How to Create an International Calling PIN

You will be required to enter your International Calling PIN when using remote dialing to make international calls, enabling/disabling international calling (via *231 and *230), or when changing your International Calling PIN. Only one International Calling PIN may be set up per account. To set up an International Calling PIN, dial *233, or follow these steps:

1. Go to international calling settings and from the Settings menu, select Create PIN
2. Enter your desired International Calling PIN in the boxes that appear and re-enter to confirm
3. Select Submit

Remote Dialing

Remote dialing allows you to make international calls while away from home. You just need to register the phone number from which you plan to call from while away from home. You may register up to five phone numbers for Remote International Calling.

To register or remove a phone number:

1. Go to international calling settings, and select Set up Remote Dialing
2. Enter a phone number you would like to authorize for remote dialing and then select Authorize
3. To remove a phone number, select Delete next to that phone number
4. Select Done

To use remote dialing, follow these steps:

1. Dial 1-917-529-5500 from any phone
2. Enter your 10-digit Optimum phone number



Note: If the system recognizes that you are calling from a phone number that you have previously authorized for remote dialing, you will skip this step.

3. Enter your International Calling PIN. If you have not set up an International Calling PIN, follow the instructions above
4. Enter the international phone number you wish to call
