Overview of Optimum Online e-mail

Optimum Online® e-mail is a great way to access your e-mail using your web browser - anytime, anywhere. Several features have been introduced to make e-mail more productive and easier to use.

 

Resizing and navigation

Resizing e-mail windows

You can easily resize your web browser window to adjust the way the screen is displayed.

Resizable panels

To increase or decrease the size of a panel, click on the bar that separates it from its neighbor and adjust the size using the mouse. The panel sizes will remain as you set them until you resize them again or sign out.

Keyboard navigation

You can navigate through Optimum Online e-mail by using either the mouse or keyboard:

Header and dock

Header and Dock

The header area contains a set of controls that allow you to sign out, access your preferences or get help.

Header and Dock Tabs

Just below the header area you'll find "the dock," from which you can access the contacts and e-mail sections.

Hide a window

To increase or decrease the size of a panel, click on the bar that separates it from its neighbor and adjust the size using the mouse. The panel sizes will remain as you set them until you resize them again or sign out.

Undock a hidden window

To undock the window, or bring it back to your main screen, simply click the down arrow located under each tab. Then select the item you'd like returned to the screen.

Contacts dock menu with quick access to windows and common tasks, such as creating a new contact

Sign out

Click this button to sign out and end your e-mail session. This will override the Optimum.net 'Keep me Signed In' setting.

Help

This button opens a new browser window and provides you with more information about accessing your Optimum Online e-mail through a web browser. This is probably how you got to this page.

Preferences

This button opens a panel for you to adjust options including: access to external e-mail accounts, signature, blocked senders, e-mail filters, and vacation message.
